| Bottled Water: |
 |
Here are some of the highlights...
+ In any given week, the equivalent to 37,500 tractor trailor trucks are moving bottled water around the country--that's a lot of fuel to move water around.
+ Most bottled water is tap water that has been filtered and packaged.
LITTLE KNOWN FACTS:
+ Dasani water is taken from the spickets of Queens, New York; Aquafina is municipal water from Wichita, Kansas. Better yet, some of Poland Springs water comes from man-made wells and municipal water sources throughout the region.
+ 25% of all bottled water consumed in the United States is muicipal water sold through the brands of Coke and Pepsi.
+ Fiji: Though wonderful in flavor, consider this....cargo ships transport plastic pellets to Fiji to be made into bottles. Then, cargo ships transport bottled water back to the United States--that's a lot of petroleum.
Solutions...
+ Filters, filters, filters....if your city's water is proven to be not-so-great (like not as good as NYC-filled Dasani), purchase a filter from Home Depot--there's many types to choose from.
+ Buy a reusable, sturdy bottle and carry your home-filtered water wherever you go.
